Full Job Description

Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance is looking to appoint a Cancer Workforce and Education Manager to work closely with the Programme Lead and Programme Director for Workforce and Education to drive forward delivery of the Greater Manchester Cancer Workforce Strategy on behalf of Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance. The post holders will be part of the Workforce and Education Team, supporting delivery of the workforce and education programme, implementing initiatives, and managing a portfolio of workforce and education projects, identified to support the required expansion of skills and transformation of the Cancer Workforce as outlined in the National Cancer Workforce Plan and National and Regional People Plans. The post-holders will play a key role in ensuring that by having the right mix of skills and effective working across teams and care settings, the needs of people affected by Cancer are better met., The Workforce and Education Managers will work with the Programme Lead and Programme Director for Workforce and Education to:

  • Manage a portfolio of workforce and education projects.
  • Liaise with appropriate functions within GM Cancer and the Greater Manchester Integrated Care on joint project matters.
  • Manage and contribute to the reporting of progress/under performance of projects to the GM Cancer Workforce and Education Board, GM Cancer Programme Assurance Group and other Boards and Committees, as required.
  • Manage and contribute to project plan reviews to ensure that any underperformance or potential delay is identified early, reported to the GM Cancer Workforce and Education Board, and ensure that remedial action agreed by the Board is actioned within the agreed timescale.

    We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual with strong leadership skills, previous experience leading workforce transformation across multiple organisations, experience working with a variety of senior stakeholders, and leading projects in complex and challenging environments.
