Full Job Description

Tameside Children's Services are proud to launch NEW Social Work Academy starting this autumn to help increase the quality of support that is offered to families in the borough, ensuring children are at the heart of everything., As part of this launch, we are looking to recruit a Workforce Training and Development Manager to support our newly qualified and experienced children's services workforce in our newly developed Social Work Academy. You will be responsible for making relationships with our partners to develop a robust training programme that meets the needs of our developing workforce by investing in their knowledge and skills., This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a well organised and creative individual who would like to progress their own career and really make a difference to Tameside. You will be an experienced training and development professional who has a strong knowledge base of children's services operations and what good Social Work practice looks like. You will have experience of analysing information to design and deliver quality training and development courses that support the improvement of quality practice.

The Social Work Academy pathway recognises that staff are its greatest asset and will provide good supervision and management support, with opportunities for learning and development. The training will align newly qualified staff with experienced colleagues, building on social worker retention and providing future career development for those that have completed the training.
