Full Job Description

Our UK&I sales and service center is hiring for a Workshop Supervisor. The role will assist in the management of all material and outbound traffic related activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of material and services. Support management with the operation of the GIPS global warehouse. The Workshop Supervisor will truly deliver a customer focused Service. Whilst managing the day-to-day activity of the workshop service team and service contractors on location, overseeing all building-related activities. Responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that the Workshop is safe, well-functioning and adhere to all local regulations and the Company's Health & Safety policies. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. The goal is to ensure our business's location is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions and that our team members are deployed to maximize their utilization and revenue generation opportunities., These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

  • Oversees all Workshop activities on location, at Middleton, making sure that health and safety standards are met, arranging for repairs when needed and managing and negotiating frequent site service suppliers.
  • Assist in material, inventory, and production management and related Workshop planning functions as required.
  • Develop and facilitate the material management policies and procedures.
  • Champions Health & Safety Best Practices and drives initiatives through the business in coordination with the management and Health & Safety.
  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice and continuous improvement operational excellence planning, vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Manages, engages and coach the Workshop Engineers and Service Contractors.
  • Support associated 3PL providers that have custody of Oshkosh and Government Furnished Material.
  • Implement process improvements in warehouse operations using the principles and tools of the Oshkosh Operating System (OOS).
  • Maintains the inventory (parts and machines), storage and distribution of equipment.
  • Manages workflow and metrics/KPIs relevant to the department using company CRM/ERP platforms. Coordinates with other team members to define metrics/KPIs and builds consistency and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Takes responsibility for the Workshop Revenue Target and keeps financial and non-financial records. Reviews P&L monthly.
  • Execute the monthly GIPS parts sales forecast.
  • Delegates workshop admin to Parts Specialists and Workshop Admin support.
  • Works with Parts Specialists to ensure safe receipt and storage of inbound goods.
  • Complete and deliver monthly reports in a timely manner. Monitors, manages and reports out to wider the team on Working in Progress, Workshop Pipeline and Lost opportunities.
  • Coordinates daily PDI activity with Inside Sales team for New Machine Sales.
  • Assist with other materials-related projects and assignments as required.

  • Driven to deliver continuous improvement (processes, systems & people)., Operational planning experience and sound knowledge in technical customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and willing to learn Microsoft Power Bi.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills., Qualification in mechanical engineering or vehicle construction is an advantage.
  • Experience with MRP, VMI and Kanban.
  • Experience with Lean concepts and Kaizan.
  • IPAF Operator Certificates.
