Full Job Description
The Workshop Technician will offer mechanical technical support & training within our business structure. Maintaining small engines and electronic equipment, the position will mainly be office based at Newton Aycliffe although additional travel may be required from time to time. The successful candidate will be a team player as this role integrates with many areas of the business. The main purpose for this role is to offer advice via telephone and email to our service dealer network and end consumers, keeping relevant computer records in the process. Main duties will include the repair and maintenance of many types of small equipment used in the ground care industry. Including: chainsaws, lawnmowers, lawn tractors, brush cutters, robotic lawnmowers and associated equipment.,
- Supporting the After Sales Manager and the After Sales Team in all aspects of After Sales support for the UK Business
- Providing technical support on the Help Desk for Husqvarna dealers
- Answering end consumer questions via email and telephone
- Evaluating and repairing machines that have been returned to the workshop
- Re-working bonded products when required
- Develop technical support systems for product training
- Communicate to the Sales Teams on categories regarding any technical issues and status
- Auto mower installations and technical support
- Warranty administration
Experience in the industry is beneficial however, not essential as product training will be provided. - Knowledge of 2 stroke/ 4 stroke engines is beneficial
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to clearly explain technical issues to clients
- Being able to write comprehensive reports
- Preferably, you will be qualified to at least "GCSE" / A level (or equivalent) in Maths, Physics or another Engineering discipline (other suitable experience or qualifications could be considered)
- The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, good grammar and be PC literate.
- A good knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office applications
- A clean, current driving license is required
