Full Job Description

West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Digital Forensic Administrators for its Digital Forensic Unit (DFU). Supporting the investigation of serious crime, the role will provide administrative support to colleagues.

The main responsibilities of the role entail the accurate logging of exhibits on the DFU case management system, ensuring the correct and secure storage of exhibits, and dealing with enquiries made to the Unit. Additionally, the role is responsible for assisting DFU colleagues to maximise the efficiency and evidential potential of submissions, as well as the archiving and deletion of data in line with departmental and statutory regulations., Applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to carry out adequate vetting checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last five years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused because it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in an administrative role as well as a good working knowledge of using a range of computer applications. In addition, candidates will require excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and good organisational and time-management skills.

As a full current UK/European driving licence holder, candidates will also be willing and able to travel for business purposes, and to work flexibly to suit the requirements of the department.

This is a challenging and demanding, but also rewarding role.

Post-holders must be willing to undergo regular Psychological Assessment.
