Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing.

In this role you will provide support using the HOLMES computer system in the investigation of Major enquiries.

You will be required to:

  • Use a secure, bespoke system as well as complete training to use policing systems

  • Be capable of successfully completing a full HOLMES Course.

  • Have basic knowledge of and ability to use computer packages such as Word Processing and Spreadsheets.


  • You must be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the CTP requirements and willing to work with in the UK wherever required as part of a Regional and National response. This role also includes weekend working.

    The posts involve working a rota pattern including weekends, 1 week in every 4, for which you will receive relevant weekend enhancement.

    The stages of recruitment are as follows:
    Tuesday 1 October 2024 - Interview
    Tuesday 8 October 2024 - Assessment

    As this is a Career Progression Scheme, candidates may be considered to start further along the progression scheme, if they possess the requisite experience and knowledge., For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements. Full progression through the scheme may be subject to attaining a specific qualification or successfully passing an assessment or review.
