Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our team at Lavender Grove Cares Residential home in Romford. Our mission at Lavender Grove Cares is to provide a caring, stable safe and happy environment for our children and young people .Here at Lavender Grove we like to think of ourselves as a family.

As a Team Leader you will play a critical role in providing care, guidance and support to children in a residential setting. You will be responsible for leading a team of support workers and ensuring the well-being and safety of the children under your care.

Responsibilities :

Lead a team of support workers, providing guidance, support and supervision.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members effectively..
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and professional development.
Care and support:

Ensure the physical, emotional and social well-being of children in our residential home.
Develop and implement individual care plans for each child, taking into consideration their unique needs and preferences.
Safeguarding and Risk Management:

Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures, promoting the welfare and protection of children.
Assess and manage risks within our residential home environment, implementing appropriate safety measures.
Respond effectively to incidents and emergencies, following established protocols.
Collaboration and communication:

Collaborate with external agencies including social Services and educational establishments, to ensure the holistic care and and development of children
Participate in team meeting, case conferences and training sessions to share information, discuss strategies and enhance professional knowledge.

Minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar role within a children's residential home or related setting.
A relevant qualification in Children's Health and Social care.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a inspire a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
Knowledge of child development, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation .
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and make sound decisions
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required., Certificate of Higher Education (preferred), Residential Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence (required)
NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred)
Child Workforce DBS on the update service
Driving license
