Full Job Description

Working as part of a small team of lawyers you will provide trauma informed and strengths-based advice and representation to young people in contact with the criminal justice system. This will include supporting newly qualified solicitors and other team members, running your own case load, providing advice and advocacy, providing training to grassroots organisations, and working with other organisations in the sector where necessary. The postholder will need to have the requisite experience in x to satisfy the legal aid agency criteria for community care supervisor. You will need to be sufficiently experienced and confident to manage a number of high-profile cases. We support exceptionally vulnerable young people with complex needs, and you will need to be able to work with our vulnerable clients. Just for Kids Law supports its legal practitioners through regular training which strengthens our child's rights approach across the organisation and helps ensure that young people are fully engaged throughout the duration of their legal case. You will be expected to both undertake training and help run such training where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be extremely motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Key Criteria:

  • Ability to supervise/ support lawyers, trainees, paralegals, or volunteers in relation to community care law cases.
  • A sympathetic, supportive team leader, able to respond to their team's needs and guide them team through the challenges of their role.
  • Providing high quality advice and representation for individual clients with a high degree of professionalism, and conducting work in such a way as to meet relevant external standards (e.g., Specialist Quality Mark, SRA, BSB and OISC etc.)

    Salary: £ 38,002 - £43,760 (depending on experience in a directly equivalent role)
