Full Job Description
Working hours : Minimum 35 hours per week with flexibility to work evenings, weekends and attend residential camps

We are looking to recruit a committed Christian with a passion to develop and deliver Ministry with Youth & Students - a key mission area of The Salvation Army.
This is an exciting opportunity to work both as a practitioner in the local context - by engaging youth through initiatives to meet need and to ensure positive outcomes and also to work as part of a team across the North West region where you will be investing in collaborative relationships with Divisional and local leaders to encourage and capitalise on existing Youth & Student ministry and to speak into new & emerging mission opportunities.
The Salvation Army ministers to physical and social as well as spiritual need and this role will work to encourage full participation of Youth & Students in the life of The Salvation Army with the goal to build communities of faith.
There is an Occupational Requirement that the successful applicant will be a committed and practising Christian since this is central to the duties of the post.
A nationally recognised qualification in youth work or working towards it and / or good experience of working with youth in areas of discipleship and leadership.
Applicants with transferable / relevant skills will be considered
- Experience of mentoring & supporting young people & youth leaders
- Demonstrable skills in youth and community engagement including the use of relevant digital and social media
- A strong work ethic, with initiative, creativity, drive & attention to detail
- Proven ability to be adaptable, flexible, think critically and creatively and
- work on your own initiative without direct supervision
- Awareness of and ability to work within Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies
- The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends & occasional residential work
- Full Driving Licence and use of your own car
