Full Job Description
We are looking for a commercial, technology and outsourcing associate (c.2-6 PQE). The ideal candidate will be an excellent technical lawyer, with a commercial approach to negotiations and resolving issues. You will typically have an opportunity to be involved in a wide selection of work, but your primary role will be leading and supporting on commercial contracts, outsourcing (whether BPO, IT or otherwise) and core technology contracts (such as cloud computing, systems development/integration and digital transformation) across sectors, with a particular focus on contracts and negotiations in the context of the retail & consumer, business support services and fintech sectors. Together with extensive experience in these areas, experience in the following would be valued:
- general commercial contracts e.g., supply of goods and/or services (B2B and B2C), agency, distribution, joint ventures and collaboration agreements and payment service agreements; and
- data protection and general technology and advisory work (e.g. the regulation of the use of AI). You will be a proactive, ambitious and collaborative member of the team who will be excited by the prospect of helping to grow this important area of the business, in return for excellent opportunities for career progression in an open, welcoming and leading practice.
- 2-6 years of PQE or equivalent relevant expertise in commercial contracts, technology and outsourcing
- Delivers legal and commercial solutions and establishes collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues to provide an outstanding client experience
- Supports the team to manage the client experience, develops trusted relationships and interacts with clients confidently to achieve the best outcome for the client
- Committed to business development to further grow their network and the practice
- Works efficiently and commercially and understands the importance of financial hygiene
- Collaborative and works effectively in a team
- Understands how to develop junior team members and support their ambitions
