This is a dynamic role with the opportunity to work across other Trust sites as needed. We offer Paediatric Crisis SIM courses, APLS training, and a variety of professional development opportunities. Plus, our dedicated Paediatric ED Practice Development Nurse is here to support you every step of the way.
- will be professionally accountable for their standards of professional practice as set by the NMC Code of Professional Standards of practice and behaviour and relevant professional guidelines
- will undertake the nurse in charge role for the department
- will supervise, support and educate other team members, including nursing and medical students
- will ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance patient experience.
- will ensure the promotion and implementation of trust policies and the effective delivery of organisational objectives.
- will promote the Trusts' visions, values and divisional objectives St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George's Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC). After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce. - Professional Leadership: Uphold the highest standards of practice in line with the NMC Code and relevant professional guidelines.
- Department Oversight: Take on the nurse-in-charge role, ensuring smooth and efficient departmental operations.
- Mentorship & Education: Supervise, mentor, and educate team members, including nursing and medical students.
- Patient Care: Deliver safe, effective clinical care while enhancing the overall patient experience.
- Policy Implementation: Promote and enforce Trust policies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Championing Excellence: Advocate for the Trust's vision, values, and divisional objectives, inspiring the team to excel.
