Full Job Description

Are you practical, reliable, and looking for a role where your skills can support a thriving parish community? Holy Rood Parish is seeking a Site Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and general upkeep of our church, parish centre, and presbytery., This is a hands-on role, ensuring that our parish buildings and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for all who visit. You will work closely with the Parish Priest to manage day-to-day site responsibilities, coordinate minor repairs, and liaise with contractors when necessary. Key Responsibilities Keeping the church, parish centre, and surrounding areas tidy and well-maintained. Setting up spaces for liturgies, meetings, and parish events. Assisting with locking and unlocking the premises when required. Monitoring and reporting maintenance issues (e.g., lighting, heating, sound system). Ensuring parish security and responding to any urgent site concerns. Managing waste disposal and keeping all entrances clean and clear. Overseeing basic health & safety compliance, including fire safety equipment., Actions we take to provide equality of opportunity for all candidates include:

  • We will work together with candidates with a disability or health condition to implement reasonable adjustments to enable them to feel comfortable and strive during the assessment process.

    We are looking for someone who:
  • Can work independently while also being part of a small team. Has strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks. Communicates effectively and is approachable and helpful. Is practical and capable of lifting/moving furniture and deliveries. Is willing to undertake Health & Safety training. (Desirable) Has previous caretaking or site management experience.
