Full Job Description

· To be responsible for ensuring effective communication systems are in place with the National Screening Centre and to be the main point of contact for all enquiries in relation to the Bowel Screening Programme, including liaising with patients.
· Liaise with patients.
· There will be requirement to exercise judgement when dealing with patient inquiries with the need to analyse and resolve patient problems.
· The post holder will be required to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising his/her own work load in taking decisions and action, some of which will be without the immediate advice of hospital medical staff.
· The post holder will prioritise and plan workload and organise own time.
· To support the general administration of the bowel cancer screening programme, liaising with other departments and external bodies as required.
· To support the Programme Manager with Health Inequality activities by attending events and communicating with the public.
· Supervised by the Band 4 Administrators, managed by the Programme Manager., · To support the Programme Manager with Health Inequality activities by attending events and communicating with the public.
· A full induction programme takes place with all new staff to the programme.
· Peer supervision is carried outh with the administrators to support each other and review tasks and service developments.
· Team meetings take place to address service change and policy updates.

The post holder is required to provide a comprehensive, administrative support service to the North Staffordshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a level of initiative in organising her/his own work load in taking decisions and actions.
There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder may have to deal with queries from anxious patients and carers therefore, you will require excellent communication skills.
To support the general administration of the bowel cancer screening programme, liaising with other departments and external bodies as required.
The post is varied and it requires excellent organisational skills, ability to work without supervision and ability to communicate with multi-professionals.
