Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a full time, Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon to join a very enthusiastic ENT team at the Wirral University Teaching Hospital, Merseyside for a six month's fixed term period. The department is optimistic that future exciting opportunities will be available in the longer term.

The successful candidate would be expected to work closely with our Audiology colleagues to provide a fully comprehensive ENT service to the patients of the Wirral.

The duties are those of a full-time consultant with a job plan as detailed in the Recruitment Briefing. On-call commitment is 1:4 during week days covering only Arrowe Park Hospital. Week-end on call is currently 1:10, provided in clinical collaboration covering 3 hospitals - Arrowe Park Hospital, Countess of Chester Hospital and Warrington Hospital. All three hospitals have middle grade ENT cover provided by Registrars or SAS Doctors. All the consultants across the three hospitals meet regularly to discuss Clinical Governance issues.

The locum consultant would be expected to undertake the duties of a General ENT surgeon, who can operate autonomously (both adult and paediatric) across both Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge sites.

All new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. We are described as "competent and caring staff" by our patients.
