Full Job Description
JLR are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage System Lead, to join our team and spearhead the development of High Voltage (HV) systems for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HV system design within the automotive industry, technical expertise in power electronics, and a passion for innovative problem-solving. The HV System Lead will play a key role in designing electrical architectures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving the project forward using Agile methodologies.,
- Lead the design, development, and validation of HV systems for BEV and PHEV platforms, including power distribution, charging systems, and energy storage systems.
- Create and optimise electrical architectures, ensuring alignment with functional safety (FUSA) requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate HV systems with other vehicle subsystems, including thermal management, powertrain, and controls.
- Develop and maintain system models for simulation and analysis, ensuring robust performance and compliance with requirements as well as define and oversee testing protocols for HV systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and system-level and Vehicle validation.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to HV systems, driving problem resolution activities and continuous improvement.
Extensive experience in HV system design and development within the automotive industry, with a preference for BEV or PHEV platforms. - Strong knowledge of power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery management systems (BMS).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and their application in HV systems.
- Expertise in electrical architecture design tools and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with system modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and testing environments (e.g., HIL systems, Vehicle). Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.
