As the Laboratory team leader, you will provide supervisory support to the designated line manager, to ensure optimum achievement of operational targets, in the most cost-effective manner, consistent with safe operating practices., You will be ensuring that the daily workload of the section is performed efficiently and effectively, in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions alongside †Ensuring that all technical staff in the section receive appropriate training, as agreed with the senior personnel, including basic and induction training of new employees, ongoing training of existing staff and training in new developments. Key activities:

• Ensuring that all equipment within the section is maintained to acceptable operating and (where appropriate) valid calibration standards.
• Acting as a representative of the Company externally, both with professional/technical bodies and with clients.
• Performing audits and ensuring compliance at all times with any local systems, rules and procedures, including external accreditation (ISO 17025, SABRe, Nadcap, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SafeContractor etc.) set by the Company and/or external certification authorities and ensuring that appropriate quality assurance controls are carried out on a regular basis within the section.
• Responsible for authorising statements of conformity on test reports.
  
  Team leadership experience
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Degree or HND in science / engineering preferred
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
