Full Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Cleansing Operative, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Cleansing Operative will provide a waste management and cleansing service within the Outdoor Recreation service. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of public areas, ensuring that waste is properly disposed of, and encouraging recycling initiatives.,
- Waste Collection & Disposal: Empty and sort refuse containers, collect illicit tipping, and litter pick where required. Ensure waste disposal at amenity sites at the end of daily rounds.
- Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Drive and operate council vehicles, ensuring compliance with road traffic regulations and reporting any defects.
- Recycling & Environmental Responsibility: Encourage recycling initiatives and implement procedures to improve recycling efforts across designated areas.
- Cleaning & Site Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties in relevant areas in the absence of cleaning staff. Report any low stock levels of cleaning materials.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, departmental Health & Safety policies, and safe working systems.
Valid UK Driving Licence (Essential). Essential: - Previous experience working with waste collection or environmental services.
- Understanding of safe working practices and waste management procedures.
- Knowledge of local refuse rounds and recycling targets.
