As our Maintenance Assistant, you will assist in maintaining the site by undertaking a range of maintenance/grounds tasks under direction and supervision. Duties are likely to include undertaking all types of general repairs/renewal in maintenance related issues, painting and decorating, grounds maintenance such as grass cutting/clearing and planned maintenance works. The role requires emphasis on Health & Safety relevant to the premises ensuring that the building and grounds are fit for purpose for students and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles. Key Duties

• Duties to include (but not limited to)the following:
• Assist in routine Maintenance work and new works in line with service needs and as required by your line manager.
• Assist in all aspects of building and grounds Maintenance.
• Assist in keeping all external areas tidy and free of litter in conjunction with the domestic team.
• Assist in securing the buildings and site as required by your line manager.
• Assist in maintaining equipment, ensuring that any defects are reported to your line manager and via the appropriate reporting systems.
• Assist in general maintenance as appropriate and as directed by your line manager
• Work in a manner that promotes the health and safety of all staff and students.
  
  Successful candidate qualities:
• Experience working within an educational setting is desirable, although not essential.
• General maintenance and grounds knowledge and experience.
• Experience and ability to use a range of tools and equipment to carry out routine maintenance tasks. (This may include carpentry, painting and decorating, repairs to furniture or the building, 'making good areas')
