Job Title: Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion and Curriculum (KS3) Location: Options Trent Acres, Kings Bromley, Staffordshire, DE13 7HR Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience Hours: 40 Hours per Week, Monday - Friday Contract: Permanent, Term Time only UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship. As part of our continued growth in service, we are recruiting for an Assistant Headteacher for Options Trent Acres located in Kings Bromley, Staffordshire. This well-established school supports pupils with complex needs and seeks an outstanding leader to drive its continued development. About the role The purpose of the Assistant Headteacher role is to oversee the implementation of the school's key stage 3 curriculum and ensuring that inclusion of all pupils is embedded throughout the school. This is a senior post within the school's staffing structure which carries with it membership of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This post carries a teaching commitment as well as SLT responsibilities. The post holder will oversee the implementation of the key stage 3 curriculum to ensure it is appropriate, sequential and offers pupils the full breadth of the national curriculum, working with with the senior leadership team to review the effectiveness of the curriculum and ensuring appropriate pathways and support are in place to support young people in making correct choices with regards to the curriculum. It is vitally imperative that a culture of inclusion is embedded throughout the school and take steps to ensure all staff are aware of this and processes to achieve this. By Creating a culture where students experience a positive and enriching school life and to be able to uphold ambitious educational standards which prepare students from all backgrounds for their next phase of education and life. You will promote and improve school attendance and monitor and review behavioural and pastoral data including attendance, lateness, relationships and culture, anti-bullying and exclusions and work positively with families, carers, all stakeholders, and others involved with the learners. Monitor pastoral and behavioural progress of pupils and young people and support all staff in understanding the pastoral and behavioural needs of SEN pupils. About the school Options Trent Acres is an outstanding independent specialist school; providing 141 places for pupils age 5-19. The school operates across two sites in Staffordshire providing academic and vocational opportunities in another both a rural, 12-acre site and a newly built college setting. The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium. Pupils also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens. Learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Trent Acres.
