South Staffordshire College
Computing and Digital at South Staffordshire College are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled teacher to support our Esports provision, working with our amazing Computing and Digital team which has seen significant growth and investment by the college.
Candidates need to support our high expectations in motivating our learners, developing their craft, requiring a high level of technical competence and up-to-date knowledge of practical Esports practices, and in supporting learners in their progression towards careers in Esports. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of working in a creative environment, and a proactive approach towards maintaining and developing new skills to support the rapidly evolving technologies and software used in the games industry.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to help play a vital role in further building our provision which is growing from strength to strength, and in supporting the region's aspirations as a digital and creative county.
The successful applicant will have:
- a degree in Media, Esports or related field,
- a full teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or looking to work towards such,
- experience of teaching,
- confidence in their use of a range of software which may include the Adobe suite, the Autodesk suite, Unreal Engine or Unity.
All applications must be received by Friday 11th April 2025.
Interviews are to be confirmed.
What you can expect from us - We care about your wellbeing so have a number of activities all year that provide support. However, time off is also important. We have a generous holiday scheme, the usual Bank Holidays, an additional 5 days at Christmas and 2 'ME' days (where you can have a day off work and do whatever makes you happy) as well as an additional day on campus spent on wellbeing.
We have a range of benefits available to all staff including paid time off for emergencies (designed to support carers) and all our policies are enhanced further than statutory requirements. The College also contributes to your pension at a minimum of 22.9% (we contribute more for people in the Local Government Pension Scheme).
South Staffordshire College is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.
We are committed to PREVENT and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.
This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure with child and barred list check.
