Full Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Teacher of DT to deliver high-quality education to students at KS3 and KS4 levels. In this Temp role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of your students, while also contributing to the wider school community. This role could be made permanent depending on the person.,
- Plan, prepare, and deliver DT lessons that cater to the abilities of all students.
- Monitor and assess students progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum and participate in departmental meetings.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success and wellbeing.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria: - Experience: At least 1-2 years of teaching experience in a secondary school, with a strong understanding of the DT curriculum.
- Qualifications: A relevant degree in DT or a related subject, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Training: Experience in classroom management and differentiated instruction. Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate:
- Advanced Teaching Experience: Extensive experience in teaching DT at GCSE level, with a proven track record of student success.
- Leadership or Coordinator Roles: Experience as a DT subject lead, department coordinator, or involvement in extracurricular activities related to DT education.
- Professional Development: Continued professional development (CPD) in DT education, including advanced training or certifications that enhance teaching practice.
