Pastoral Coach – Inclusive Learning

37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

£24,642 per annum actual

The Inclusive Learning Department at our Easton campus are looking for a new Pastoral Coach.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to join our outstanding team and to undertake a vital and rewarding role within the department.

This is a permanent role and is contracted for 38 weeks of the year

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

To monitor students’ attendance, punctuality and academic progress using college databases and information from subject tutors and PALs.
To conduct individual tutorials to help students to reflect on their progress, to set and review SMART targets and draw up an action plan.
To record individual tutorials on the electronic ILP.
To maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports including progress reports for parents and employers.
To liaise closely with the course teams to ensure that tutorials are fully integrated into course delivery and review.
To assist students to improve their own learning and performance by developing their study skills.
To listen and support students who may have difficulties, referring to other staff and agencies when necessary.
To offer impartial guidance on future plans and to refer students for careers advice where more specialist knowledge is needed.
To actively encourage students to take part in extra-curricular enrichment activities.
