Pastoral Coach – Inclusive Learning

37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

£24,642 per annum actual

 The Inclusive Learning Department at our Easton campus are looking for a new Pastoral Coach. 

 This is an opportunity for the right candidate to join our outstanding team and to undertake a vital and rewarding role within the department.

 This is a permanent role and is contracted for 38 weeks of the year

 Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  •  To monitor students’ attendance, punctuality and academic progress using college databases and information from subject tutors and PALs.
  •  To conduct individual tutorials to help students to reflect on their progress, to set and review SMART targets and draw up an action plan.
  •  To record individual tutorials on the electronic ILP.
  •  To maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports including progress reports for parents and employers.
  •  To liaise closely with the course teams to ensure that tutorials are fully integrated into course delivery and review.
  •  To assist students to improve their own learning and performance by developing their study skills.
  •  To listen and support students who may have difficulties, referring to other staff and agencies when necessary.
  • To offer impartial guidance on future plans and to refer students for careers advice where more specialist knowledge is needed.
  • To actively encourage students to take part in extra-curricular enrichment activities.
