Full Job Description
This post is for a L2 SEND Teaching Assistant (30 hours per week, term time only), 12 months fixed term in the first instance but there may be the opportunity to continue as provision needs s the child's school journey progresses., Interviews: Monday 7th May 2025 School Visits: Thursday 3rd April 4.15pm & Tuesday 8th April 4.15pm. We do recommend that you come visit and see the context of our SEND Base provision. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Please note: Dudley MBC does not currently offer sponsorship for candidates without the Right to Work in the UK. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.
The highly inclusive culture is one of the standout features of Dawley Brook. Pupils who have struggled elsewhere thrive here. Staff identify pupils with special education needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and provide them with the resources and support they need to succeed. For those pupils with higher needs, including those who attended the resource base, the curriculum is adapted well. As a result, these pupils are settled and are making good progress with their learning. Our children say: 'It's a fun school and a happy place.' 'We make friends.' 'I like being kind and working hard.' 'I like learning and playing.' We are all very proud of the work that children and staff do here and enjoy sharing this through our website, assemblies and workshops. We are looking for a new member of our team to support children with EHCPs within Oak Tree Class, working alongside our amazing SENDCo, Base Teachers, SEND HLTA and our teaching team of staff., Top tip when applying - As we've got a new recruitment system the application process has changed a little and we hope you'll like it! You'll first need to register and create a profile the first time you apply. Creating your profile will enable you do things such as track your application progress, view emails you've received from us and manage communication preferences, manage your interview bookings and offer information if successful.
