As a Principal Data Scientist at Zühlke, you will play a pivotal role in leading our machine learning initiatives and providing technical leadership for our clients' AI projects. You will serve as a trusted technical expert, guiding development teams and clients toward successful, data-driven solutions that deliver measurable business value. • You will take on the responsibility and technical leadership of customer projects in a wide variety of industries (defining methodological approach, developing use cases with customers, advising customers on technical topics, as well as presenting and explaining results).
• Thanks to your thought leadership and your passion for Data Science topics, you will inspire our customers for the field of Machine Learning.
• Supporting pre-sales activities, you will leverage your technical expertise and strong communication skills to understand client needs, contributing to Zühlke's success in winning new business.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver scalable Data & AI solutions, products, and services that meet client needs. Facilitating collaboration among experts, you will drive project success and deliver business value.
• Analysing client use cases, you will assess technical implications and enable well-informed decisions. Planning and leading workshops will be part of your role, guiding clients to ensure the right approach is applied to address their unique challenges.
• You lead the development of Machine Learning solutions or develop them independently: data preparation, modelling, method selection, evaluation, implementation.
• You evaluate the technical and business feasibility of solutions, providing sound advice on when machine learning solutions are, and are not appropriate.
• You understand the complexity of operationalizing prototypes and have solved the cross-functional issues which arise during operationalization.
• You have broadened your knowledge beyond data science, and are able to give guidance on data management best practices which are required to operationalize data science solutions
• You bring your expertise to the Zühlke team and support our juniors in their further development.
  
  You have the extensive number of years of professional experience in the field of Data Science/ Machine Learning. Experience implementing projects in a commercial and enterprise context is desired
• You'll have experience delivering project-based work in a consultancy environment, or leading a significant innovation/change project within a company.
• You bring solid and broad knowledge in Machine Learning, in-depth knowledge in multiple application domains (e.g. Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision) and expert knowledge in statistics.
• You are proficient in the Python Machine Learning stack (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), have extensive experience in software development and are skilled with various database systems (relational/NoSQL).
• You are experienced in delivering projects in at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• During your work operationalizing data science solutions, you have implemented MLOps best practices and understand their value in building sustainable solutions
• You have successfully guided data science teams and can demonstrate a track record of mentoring junior data scientists.
• Thanks to your open and communicative personality, you feel comfortable in interdisciplinary teams and can work in a customer-oriented way, from the idea to the successful implementation of a solution.
• You have a Master's degree in a STEM subject or a comparable education. A PhD in a machine learning related field is highly desired.
