Full Job Description
- Manage and lead the Income Team, ensuring departmental objectives are communicated and engaged with, planning, organising and delegating work, monitoring progress and intervening as required
- Contribute to the long term strategic planning and management of the Income Team, interpreting Finance strategy into work priorities and setting the standards for the section
- Contribute to the development of Income Team initiatives that have a University wide impact
- Manage performance, induction and development of the section
- Support and guide team members in welfare issues, escalating as necessary to specialist support areas
- Ensure the delivery of the sections' service level agreements, adapting these according to changes in workload and customer requirements
- Collaborate with others in order to develop processes and procedures used within the sector and the Income Team
- Undertake the training of others in areas relating to the teams work
- Undergo personal and professional development that is appropriate to and which will enhance performance
- Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels, developing appropriate communication links with the University's Schools/Directorates and outside bodies as required
- Gather and analyse data to inform decisions, establishing basic trends and patterns in data and creating reports as appropriate Specific Duties
- Supporting and promoting a systematic approach to dealing with change, both from the perspective of the University and on the individual level, proactively addressing and adapting to change, controlling change and effecting change, in line with current University policy
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the Fee Matrix is updated as required to ensure all new courses and modular fees can be charged effectively.
- To ensure the monthly closedown of AR and to complete the reconciliation of AR to GL in Oracle EBS.
- Responsible for Oracle and SIMS year end bad debt provisions and write offs.
- Responsible for setting and updating the Income section data retention policy in line with relevant GPDR legislation.
- To assist Internal and External Auditors with annual audits.
- Authorisation of student tuition fee and Misc refunds, within the authorisation limit set by the Deputy Director Finance.
- Liaising with the University approved external debt collection agency regarding all debt referrals and ongoing collection activities. General Duties
