Full Job Description
The Project Lead in the Controllership function will play an integral role in driving change and transformation for the Global Balance Sheet Reconciliation Program, a multi-year program. The successful candidate will be experienced in the Controllership function, implementation of systems and process improvements, and excels in an environment of fast-paced change in a global matrixed organisation. The role will report into the overall Program Lead. What you will be doing:
- Manage a project delivery team to ensure project deliverables are met and review team deliverables for quality control
- Work closely with the Project Manager to build detailed project plans and track progress through regular reporting
- Successful on-time and on-budget delivery of project activities
- Early identification of issues and escalation to Program Lead
- Partner with the Technology Project Lead to ensure systems related objectives are met, and provide design requirements for the technology design and implementation enhancements
- Collaborate with local finance teams, other key functional teams (eg. IT, Global Process Owners, Financial Risk Management, Technical accounting and policy teams), project members and SME's
- Drive discovery and design solutioning for each Balance Sheet account phase, including the design of best-practice Balance sheet reconciliation templates and process
- Key contributor in presentations to key stakeholders in Design Advisory Board and Steering committee meetings
- Work with the Change Manager on relevant change-related activities (eg. building training content)
- Delivery of training and hypercare support for each Balance Sheet account phase
Qualified Accountant with at least 8 years of relevant experience, to include at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity - Must have experience in a global multi-national company
- Public accounting experience with a Big 4 audit background strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with SOX and US GAAP experience preferred
- Experience with using an ERP system and Balance sheet reconciliation tool
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Highly organised, manage and prioritise critical deadlines, with ability to provide timely, reliable and transparent information to stakeholders
- Ability to collect, analyse and summarise data into key themes concisely, with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate, build consensus and influence people across different levels of the organisation
- Self-motivated, proactive, strong work ethic and able to work with minimal supervision
