Full Job Description
Academic Registry is one of the University of South Wales' (USW) key professional services departments, delivering high-quality administrative, logistical, and information services for students throughout their studies, from enrolment to graduation. We oversee academic quality assurance, enhancement, and the administrative services that underpin the University's curriculum and student journey. The role will be based within the Student Records and Assessment Team of Academic Registry.
Student Records and Assessment Team: You will work across all areas of the team to support the delivery of team operations which include:
Student record management
Assessment administration processes and services (including issuing results)
Graduation ceremonies
Certificate and transcript production and distribution
Past student services
Academic Integrity
along with the associated systems, related web support, and information. The role involves working with colleagues to ensure successful delivery of services to students, faculties, and partners., Our people: Our staff are at the heart of what we are and do. We aim to enable staff to develop careers within Academic Registry and across the wider HE sector, offering developmental and career enhancing opportunities. We embrace the University's Core Values and the Association of Higher Education Professionals 'Professional Framework'.
Location of work: The University is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. The role will be based primarily at the University of South Wales' Pontypridd campus, although you will need to travel and work at any of the three USW campuses as well as homeworking. The successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for a proportion of each week. A flexible approach to working hours may be necessary to support the delivery of our services, with some work occasionally taking place outside normal office hours.
If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University / RWCMD (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
About you: You will be a great communicator, a motivated team player, with experience of working in the delivery of administration services with a willingness to learn. You will have a good level of organisational skills, able to work flexibly to prioritise work to meet key deadlines. You will be proficient in the use of IT and able to write succinct and accurate summaries of discussions., If you're a Welsh learner or a Welsh speaker, we'd be delighted to receive your application. At USW, you'll have access to Welsh courses to enable you to develop your Welsh skills further, in order to provide a bilingual service to our students, colleagues and the public.
We welcome applications in Welsh and English. Applications in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than those made in English.
