Provide ongoing legal advice and support to commercial teams across Europe, principally related to commercial matters, which may include:

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of commercial transactions and activities, including international agreements with airline and MRO customers, strategic partners and suppliers
• Providing ongoing legal support and performing risk control duties to business activities and operating affiliates with respect to various general operating matters, such as commercial disputes, aviation regulatory matters, controllership, company secretarial duties, compliance reviews, training and other issues affecting the business
• Acting as a business partner by applying combined business and legal judgement to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention
• Advising on UK, European and global regulations impacting on the GE Aerospace business in Europe
• Using Lean thinking necessary to simplify processes and reduce cycle time, including development of standard practices and web-based tools
• Anticipating and driving solutions for unassigned legal and business issues and growth initiatives
• Managing referral of matters to in-house legal specialists and occasionally outside counsel
• Training employees regarding contract best practices and legal principles effecting their work-scope
• Collaborating with and facilitating cross-team decision-making among the legal team, business teams and other internal teams
  
  Law degree
• Admitted to practice law in England and Wales or another common-law jurisdiction
• Substantial experience in commercial and corporate law collected in an in-house legal department or reputable law firm
• Fluency in English is essential with ability to communicate fluently in other languages is a strong asset., Established analytical ability and excellent communication and advocacy skills, with an aptitude for practical negotiation, clear thinking and succinct communication to all levels of an organisation
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including ability to influence others to deliver on commitments and work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to develop process-driven solutions for recurring issues
• Ability to handle multiple inquiries and assignments in a time pressured environment, and composure to satisfy multiple, and sometimes competing objectives
• Creativity, vision, and sound judgement in developing and implementing legal solutions to problems
• Law firm or in house experience in the following practice areas: commercial, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate, or corporate finance
