Full Job Description
- Provide high-end editing for Casualty's scripted genre using Avid editing package.
- Provide editorial suggestions when necessary and work from producer's and exec producer's notes to tell a story in the most effective way.
- Produce trailers and other promotional material.
- Assist with the training and development of more junior staff.
- Advising production on concepts for titles/credits and tonal output of the show.
Are you an experienced editor, who has extensive experience in editing scripted drama content? Are you editorially minded and looking for the chance to edit one of the UK's most popular TV programmes?, As much editorially as technically focused, this exciting opportunity would suit an experienced scripted drama editor, with multiple credits, who also has a good knowledge and appreciation of Casualty and its style. You will be someone who is able to creatively respond to producer's and previous editor's notes and provide editorial suggests. We are looking for someone that can be adaptable and can jump on and work on another editor's work with no issue as well as someone who, from day to day, is able to prioritise effectively and manage theirs and others workload., Multiple drama editor credits across a variety of Drama productions, preferably long-running series. - Be editorially minded, with examples of how you have provided editorial solutions in response to producers notes.
- Experience of being adaptable, with examples of working across multiple projects at once.
- Evidence of utilising highly effective communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate and work with colleagues on all levels, including Execs, and foster positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external personnel.
- Experience of cutting trailers and other content, often to music, in addition to the main blocks' slate.
- Experience and evidence of leading creative teams; track record of training and developing more junior members of the team to nurturing and inspire a range of disciplines and skill levels.
- Proven knowledge of advising on and creating titles and credit sequences.
- Proficiency in Avid.
- Knowledge and passion for Continuing Dramas, especially Casualty, is desirable.
