Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic person to be a pivotal part of Cancer Services. This role will encompass the personalised cancer care team, living with and beyond cancer teams, Macmillan information centre and a population of Clinicals nurse specialist teams. The successful candidate will be a forward thinker , passionate about cancer patients and their experience whilst drawing on clinical expertise to role model good care to the cancer patient. As a deputy to the lead cancer nurse, the successful candidate will have experience leading and managing teams and promoting strong visible leadership as well as confidence influencing teams across the trust. The post holder must be equipped with the skillset to lead and navigate teams through the financial climate and project managing new ways of working to improve outcomes for our patients. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the personalised cancer agenda, experience in working with, To provide expert advice, leadership and delivery of the Personalised Cancer Care agenda across BHRUT's Cancer patient cohort. This is a group of interventions being rolled out nationally which, when delivered together, can greatly improve the outcomes for people living with and beyond cancer.

We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen's and get rid of corridor care.

Our patients are benefitting from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We're proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
