The Procurement team and conducts tenders for over £100,000 for goods and services and £500,000 for works. The role will involve:

• Being a point of reference for internal services concerning any matters involving the sourcing of external suppliers.
• Assisting services with the development of sourcing strategies.
• Running competitive procedures for goods, services and works contracts under threshold and above threshold under the governance of the Procurement Act 2023. These are issued through our e-tendering system.
• Conducting Direct Awards and Further Competition under frameworks.
• Agreeing contract amendments and extensions.
• Adhering to our internal governance and ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act, Public Contract Regulations and the Health Act (Provider selection Regime)., We're proud to be here for the people of Somerset.   Have experience of public procurement both above and below the thresholds applicable to the legislation.
• Knowledge of Public Contract Regulations 2015 and The Procurement Act 2023
• Know your way around Microsoft 365 (especially Word and Excel) and are comfortable using databases.
• Confident in dealing with officers and members, guiding them through the procurement processes.
• Ideally CIPS qualified or progressing towards qualification.
