Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented and collaborative quantitative researcher interested in working with real-world data from large electronic health records datasets. The primary role of the post-holder will be to lead projects involving quantitative analysis of linked electronic health records across the primary & secondary care settings.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria
- PhD qualified in relevant subject area (or pending results), such as Epidemiology, Public health, Biostatistics, Psychology, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of advanced statistical methods & data analysis techniques using statistical software (R, Python, Stata)
- Experience with electronic health records data & familiarity with data extraction, management, and analysis
- Proven experience and interest in conducting research related to mental health, cardiometabolic disorders, or migraine
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest research and advancements in the field of mental health, cardiometabolic disorders, and migraine studies
- Excellent communication skills (e.g., experience in writing for publication in peer reviewed journals & findings presentation to wider audiences)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work to own initiatives as well as being part of a team Desirable criteria
- Experience of teaching on undergraduate and/or taught postgraduate programmes and to supervise BSc/MSc projects
- Experience of or willingness to co-supervise postgraduate taught (MSc) dissertations
- Experience working to deliverable deadline
- Ability to identify and address research challenges and obstacles
Applications are invited for a talented and motivated post-doctoral researcher to join a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional team with expertise in the interface of mental and physical health conditions. Reporting to Dr Alex Dregan (School of Academic Psychiatry) and Dr Anna Andreou (School of Neuroscience) at IoPPN, the successful candidate will work on multiple projects, exploring the interrelationship between common mental health disorders (depression, anxiety) with cardiometabolic disorders (vascular events, diabetes), as well as to evaluate healthcare utilisation and quality patterns for migraine patients. The projects represent integrated programmes of work funded by the NIH (USA), Pfizer and AbbVie, and the NIHR, addressing international and national health priorities in specific research areas. The project is led by a multi-disciplinary team from the King's College London, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA), Lund University (Sweden), and Semmelweis University (Hungary).
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) fixed-term position initially until the 31 December 2026, with the possibility to extend to 31 August 2027, provided further funding confirmation. The post holder will be based at Denmark Hill and Guy's campus, with the opportunity to work remotely for part of the week.
