Why job hunters are more attractive
Anyone who’s ever fallen in love will know how far we will go to make ourselves more attractive. It’s not enough just to get our dreamboat’s attention. We then have to make them believe we really are their one and only forever friend.
This means taking extra care if our appearance, investing in clothes with added wow factor and generally making ourselves appear to be the hottest ticket in town.
If this can work to win the heart, it can also win over a potential new employer.
Thankfully, companies care not so much about Hollywood looks or witty one-liners. They do, however, find themselves falling head over heels for qualities that will be a valuable new asset to their business: it just so happens these qualities also make job hunters incredibly attractive in the wider world.
Be an action hero
Anyone who regularly checks [site name] for new vacancies is a go-getter, someone who doesn’t wait for the world to come to them but goes out to grab the best from life. Employers love proactive people who show drive and initiative. Action heroes also do rather well at speed dating.
Dress to impress
Job hunters are also power dressers. They know the importance of first impressions and any interview will go so much better if an employer sees straight away this candidate has made an effort and can handle themselves with confidence. Of course, that interview outfit also works wonders on Friday night when you’re networking over drinks.
Trust yourself
Nothing is more off-putting in a potential relationship than being too desperate or needy. Job hunters are neither. They know they’re bringing something to the table and the confidence that comes from this self-awareness allows others to recognise their true character and talents. Simply being comfortable in your own skin is probably the most attractive feature you can have.
Understand one another
Just like true romance, a new work relationship can only succeed if both parties truly understand one another. The job hunter studies any potential role in great detail, learning all they can from information on the [site name] listing and the company website. Similarly, their CV should let an employer know everything about them. From this comes a better understanding of what’s needed to make a perfect match.
