Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to join our team within the theatre complex. The Post-operative care unit is a very busy, ever evolving unit. The department runs a 7-day service and is responsible for the recovery of all patients following surgery including maternity, trauma and emergency services., As lead nurse in PACU you must be a highly motivated individual responsible for the leadership and operational management of the department.

You will be responsible for leading the team to provide excellent post -operative care for all patients undergoing surgery. You will ensure each patient will have their individualised care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care in partnership with the patient and the multidisciplinary teams. You will lead the team to support the ongoing physiology and monitoring of patients post operatively

You and your team will be working closely with ICU giving support for patients that require extended more complex recovery.

You will act as role model to all staff and demonstrate excellent motivational, communication and clinical skills ensuring good teamwork and a supportive environment for staff whilst ensuring the highest standards of care are demonstrated at all times.

This exciting new opportunity requires excellent organisational and time management skills and the post holder must have the ability to manage difficult situations and encourage change.
