Full Job Description

The post holder will work in a variety of clinical areas, specialising in each area for a period of six months.

To manage a defined clinical caseload, with support and supervision of Senior Occupational Therapist. To work in partnership with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team to identify relevant goals. To conduct the assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients, documenting input and communicating as appropriate with hospital based Multidisciplinary Team and partner agencies.

The post holder will be a key player in the planning of safe and effective patient discharges appropriate to the clinical area.

To actively participate in continual professional development (CPD).

To take some responsibility for work experience, observational students and support staff.

To advocate and promote the profession within the trust, with patients and within the local area.

We are seeking highly motivated Occupational Therapists with good assessment and treatment planning skills.Working with multi-professional teams, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience from the following range of physical specialities: Orthopaedics, Medical Early Intervention, Discharge to Assess (community), Stroke and Neurology, Urgent Care, and the Acorn Rehabilitation Unit (in-patient rehabilitation). Successful candidates will be expected to work in a flexible way to cover a 7-day working week.
