An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team at Barnsley hospital to train to become a qualified pharmacy dispensary assistant.

We will integrate you into our team and together we will ensure that our patients receive the right medications at the right time, and together we will strive in providing the best possible patient experience., To undertake and obtain a BTEC and NVQ level 2 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills through day release at a higher education centre.

To carry out pharmaceutical technical duties in specified areas of the pharmacy department.

To provide an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for all patients treated by Barnsley District General Hospital NHS Trust.

Working hours:

Working hours are from 9-17:00, 30 minutes lunch and one college day a week.

Apprentices dont have to contribute to the departmental weekend, bank holiday and late-night service rota.

During your 15-month contract full practical in-house training will be provided, you will undertake a BTEC and NVQ level 2 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills, this will provide you with the skills to work as a Pharmacy Assistant, alongside the knowledge you will need to support your pharmacy career. You must be a team player, keen to further your education, and have a good attention to detail as well as the ability to work accurately in a busy environment and be able to communicate clearly with patients and staff.

The entrance requirements for the course are to pass the initial assessments in Maths and English or already have Maths and English GCSE A-C or 9-4.
