Full Job Description

A rare and highly sought-after opportunity is available for a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) working within Surgical Same Day Emergency Care unit (SDEC). If you relish a challenge, are passionate about service development and providing a high standard of patient care, then Surgical SDEC unit is the place for you. We are looking for an exceptional ACP who is enthusiastic and dedicated to improving our already high achieving service. You will be expected to work autonomously but within a wider surgical team, assessing, ordering and interpreting investigations, diagnosis and creating an appropriate management plan. This involves complex diagnostic decision making, prescribing, treatment planning and the ability to manage complex situations effectively, safety and decisively, whilst being supported by our SDEC clinical lead and SpR

Surgical SDEC is located next to the Emergency Department (ED) / medical SDEC and is close to the radiology department. The unit is open from 7:30am-8pm with referrals being accepted from 8am to 6pm seven days a week. The successful candidate will be joining our unit at an exciting time in its development and will be part of a friendly and supportive team.

Main duties of the job

Manage a clinical case to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients presenting with acute surgical conditions.

Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice and competency.

Provide expert advice and education to patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.

Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the SDEC unit.

Maintain own professional development for a ANP
