Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our AMU Admin night team to carry out a full range of duties in order to provide an effective and efficient service for the Acute Medical Unit.

The role of the department is to provide high quality care to the patients and service users for inpatients and outpatients on the Acute Medical Unit. The units take direct admissions from G.P, Emergency Department and Clinic Referrals.

The night ward clerk service for AMU covers 19:00-07:00 7 days a week. The post holder will be required to work a three-week rolling rota pattern consisting of two nights, The post holder will be required to:

To provide an efficient and effective reception for patients attending the departments, directing and helping visitors and patients with enquires.

To act as first line of contact for all telephone enquiries to the ward/unit, re-directing calls when necessary

To ensure patients are appropriately received, admitted, transferred, discharged and where necessary make outpatient appointments, using the Hospital Careflow (electronic patient record system) system

General administration duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying and tracking medical notes

Work closely with all members of our Multi-Disciplinary Team to maintain service provision.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, appropriately prioritise their workload and be highly motivated.
