Full Job Description

In this Trainer role within the Apprenticeships department at Barnsley College, you'll play a key part in delivering meaningful learning experiences for apprentices, reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager at grade TEACH1. You will plan, coordinate, assess, and review learning activities, guiding apprentices toward successful completion of their end-point assessments while closely monitoring their off-the-job training. Your responsibilities will include managing a small caseload of apprentices, regularly assessing their progress, and maintaining strong communication with employers. You'll conduct initial skills assessments, assist learners in securing work placements, and nurture lasting connections with employers to support their development. You'll also create and update individual training plans tailored to each apprentice's needs. Focused mainly on classroom-based delivery, you'll teach roll-on, roll-off programmes, including the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, with class sizes of 15-20 learners. You'll help apprentices apply classroom knowledge to their workplace roles, while tailoring sessions to be engaging and impactful. Additionally, you'll coordinate exam logistics, engage in regular standardisation and professional development, and ensure all assessments meet college policies. Prior experience in the finance sector or in a finance role is essential, as is your enthusiasm to motivate and inspire apprentices to achieve their best.

For this Trainer role within the Apprenticeships department, we're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with a background in Accountancy or Finance. You'll be passionate about guiding apprentices through their studies, tailoring your approach to inspire and support each learner. In the classroom, you'll create an engaging, supportive environment for classes of 15-20 students, using your experience to deliver roll-on, roll-off programmes like the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting. You'll balance interactive teaching with individual learner support and handle logistics, including exam bookings, with ease. We're looking for someone who values growth-committed to their own professional development and active in standardisation and training activities to keep teaching standards high. If you're ready to inspire the next generation of finance professionals, this could be the perfect role for you!
