Are you ready to take your accounting career to the next level? Wiltshire Police is looking for a motivated and skilled Accountancy Officer to join our dynamic finance team. This is your chance to make a real difference, not just to our organisation, but to your community too! What You'll Be Doing As our Accountancy Officer, you'll play a vital role in managing financial processes that keep our operations running smoothly. Working closely with the Statutory Capital Accountant, you'll be responsible for: Turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders. Managing reconciliations, VAT returns, and grant reporting with precision and expertise. Supporting audits and ensuring our financial processes are watertight. Handling Force banking, invoicing, and income processes, making sure everything balances. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners like HMRC and CIPFA. Administering and auditing Wiltshire Police Sports Club and Lottery processes.

We're searching for a proactive problem-solver with a passion for numbers and an eye for detail. You'll need: Progress towards an AAT qualification or equivalent experience in an accounting role. Confidence using accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Strong communication skills to engage with teams across the organisation and beyond. The ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure. A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion.
