Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an actuarial and insurance professional interested in growing within or pivoting towards cyber insurance. The candidate will be an integral part of CyberCube's Solutions Consulting (SC) team which sits at the confluence between our client-facing go-to-market (GTM) teams and our internal product development teams.,

  • Delivery of cyber insurance projects and related analyses and presentations both internally and externally
  • Internal power user of CyberCube's suite of products
  • Subject matter expertise across cyber risk analytics for CyberCube's clients
  • Cyber educator and evangelist for both technical and non-technical audiences new to cyber risk modeling
  • Recommends product enhancements features, and initiatives based on market feedback
  • Provide a positive experience when interacting with clients and prospects and acting as an ambassador for CyberCube when engaging the insurance market

    The SC team brings together the best of CyberCube to support the world's leading institutions and emerging businesses across the entire insurance value chain with our best-in-class cyber data, analytics, signals, models, and risk frameworks. You'll be a key member of this team, play a critical role in client-focused product journey from pre-sales to product advisory, support the end-to-end delivery of cyber risk consulting services, and will have loads of fun while doing the best work of your career!
  • The ideal candidate will have around three to eight years of general insurance (GI) or property and casualty (P&C) work experience with at least some of this in a commercial lines pricing or underwriting environment. This role is based in London, although other UK regions and the East Coast of the US will be considered. Candidates already based in the UK requiring work sponsorship are welcome to apply. This position will involve up to 10% travel, primarily across the US and continental Europe.,
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. actuarial, statistics, data science, mathematics, economics, finance, etc.) or equivalence via work experience
  • Experience in catastrophe modeling, capital modeling, dynamic financial modeling, and/or Monte Carlo methods
  • Knowledge of insurance pricing models including GLMs, machine learning models, and rating platforms
  • Able to solve complex and novel problems through a structured approach, intellectual rigor, and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Python, R, or another commonly used quantitative data analysis tool., Can work with limited instruction and supervision in an iterative manner while seeking feedback and guidance as appropriate and needed
  • Works efficiently and can balance competing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues
  • Open communicator who proactively seeks and provides positive and constructive feedback
  • Ability to translate quantitative work into a cohesive story via Powerpoint and Word.
  • Goals-oriented with a drive to work through obstacles, Progression towards qualification from a recognized actuarial organization (Institutes and Faculty of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, etc.) with the intention to qualify
  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity topics and/or cyber insurance and analytics
  • Experience in portfolio management and/or exposure management
  • Knowledge of alternative risk transfer strategies and structuring in the reinsurance, retrocessionaire, and/or alternative capital markets
  • Practical experience in data science and/or statistical modeling
  • Experience at an established consultancy practice
