Full Job Description

The Adults Learning Disability Health (ALDH) Service sits within the Specialist Advice and Support Services (SASS) division.
As a group of Specialist Services, we work closely with other health providers such as Primary Care, Acute Hospitals, and other services within Sirona such as the Integrated Network Teams (INTs). Sirona Specialist Services have a strong focus on collaborative working, enabling knowledge & skills development, with an emphasis on improving the quality of patient care. The Specialist Services work as role models & an expert resource to ensure that health care professionals within and outside the organisation have access to the right knowledge, skills, and resources so that evidence-based care is embedded as a fundamental principle across all pathways.
The ALDH Service encompasses Behaviour and Mental Health (BMH), Specialist Healthcare & Healthcare Facilitation pathways. Our ALDH Service delivers assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for people with a Learning Disability. We cover 6 localities where multidisciplinary teams enable our service users to access health services through direct care, liaison with other services & offering support and training on how to work with people who have a learning disability and how to make reasonable adjustments. The service prides itself on delivering high quality support to service users with a variety of physical and mental health issues alongside their Learning Disability., You will work closely with the ALDH Service Manager to undertake service transformation of the Medical Secretary team & associated ways of working for the Consultants across BNSSG. You will support the Clinical & Operational Lead for BMH diary, meeting organisation & provide robust coordination across key areas of work within the BMH team. You will have overall responsibility for the collation & reporting of quality assurance data & key performance indicators for Psychiatry. You will provide project management support in monitoring of existing contracts, service transformation, & work alongside the ALDHS Business Support Co-ordinator with the ongoing development of the ALDH service. You will lead on areas of governance as required, ensuring timely review of service specific documentation with minutes & action plans.
You will manage the ALDH Medical Secretary team, with responsibility for service delivery & transformation within the service across BNSSG, supporting quality, continuity & innovation. You will line manage the identified Band 4s & will support them with supervision, training, and support of the wider admin team as required. You will be responsible for Medical Secretary workforce planning, recruitment & the governance of the admin team, including managing incidents, complaints & risks. All staff are required to use a range of communication & listening skills to work effectively with our service users. Where necessary you will be required to work at other bases .
