Full Job Description

To be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Adult Carer Project and ensure consistent delivery of high quality services. Responsible for operating as a member of the senior management team and take day to day responsibility when necessary. DUTIES: Operational Management

  • To effectively manage both support workers and own workload
  • To develop project plans and action plans that link to adult project, contract
  • and funding outcomes
  • To provide support and information within the office
  • Raise awareness of the needs of Carers and the issues relating to their
  • Caring role
  • Work with the Chief Officer and Management Team to plan and implement
  • new and existing Quality Assurance Systems including ISO9001 and the Carers Trust Quality mark
  • To develop and promote working relationships in areas of recognised need
  • where we have small numbers of carers identified
  • To promote staff to identify and make contact with Carers in such a way as
  • to enable them to express their needs and views
  • To be a main link with the Local Authority at local and team level in regard
  • to contract monitoring and management
  • To attend meetings/provide written progress reports/project monitoring and
  • evaluation to Carer Support West Cumbria and individual funders
  • To raise awareness within partner organisations and influence them to
  • increase their understanding and best practice in relation to issues facing carers which may include giving presentations
  • To keep accurate database records, both internal and external (as required
  • through contacts) and provide feedback/information for funders as required
  • Support the adult team in skills development to enable them to be
  • competent in using complex database systems to meet with tender requirements
  • To identify and document appropriate case information
  • To assist the Chief Operating Officer with appropriate Project Budgets
  • To work closely with all other Support Workers and Young Carer Support
  • Workers
  • To assist the Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement
  • organisational policies and procedures where relevant
  • To attend Carers events, meetings and Forums as required
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of services which affect Adult Carers:
  • In collaboration with Senior Management Team colleagues, work with
  • statutory and voluntary partners to help them recognise and incorporate adult carers' needs in strategic planning and service provision
  • Work collaboratively with all other projects under the umbrella of Carers
  • Support West Cumbria to raise carers awareness, develop and implement training for professionals and represent the organisation and carers issues on planning boards and meetings as required Line Management supervision and support:
  • Effectively manage the performance of the Adult Carer Team, including
  • monthly supervision and ongoing appraisal
  • Lead regular team meetings
  • Contribute to the development of organisational policy and practice
  • Ensure that appropriate training and support is provided to members of the
  • team, and share with the wider organisation where appropriate
  • Ensure application of HR Policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the recruitment process of appropriately skilled and qualified
  • staff General:
  • As a member of the Senior Management team to deputise for the Chief
  • Officer and/or Young Carers Project Manager in his/her absence
  • Keep appropriate records and provide regular reports on activity levels and
  • outcomes, as agreed with the Chief Officer
  • Carry out all of the above with an understanding and commitment to Equal

  • Actively participate in staff meetings, Senior Management Team meetings
  • and in own supervision and ongoing appraisal
  • Act at all times in accordance with Carer Support West Cumbria policies
  • and procedures and in a way that will enhance the organisation's reputation
  • Work with support and office staff on a day to day basis to ensure all staff
  • have relevant training and understanding of Carers Support West Cumbria and procedures with regard to data protection, confidentiality and subject access to ensure GDPR compliance
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are in place to maintain the safety of
  • young people using the service
  • Ensure that risk assessments and reviews are undertaken and that
  • identified risks are managed and mitigated where possible
  • To carry out any additional relevant duties as directed by the Chief Officer
