Full Job Description

We are seeking a Centre Manager to join our small friendly team based at Biblins Youth Campsite in Hereford. You'll join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and, in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,521 - £36,528 per annum, pro rata.
Biblins Youth Campsite is part of the Woodcraft Folk centre network, dedicated to providing young people with enriching outdoor experiences. We are committed to education for social change, ensuring all visitors have a safe and memorable stay while promoting environmental awareness, co-operation and equality.
About The Role
As our Centre Manager, you will manage Biblins Youth Campsite, part of the Woodcraft Folk centre network, ensuring all customers have a safe and positive experience whilst improving and developing the educational offer provided by the centre.
You will be willing to work flexibly as working hours vary throughout the year to meet demand on site. You will also need transport to access the site, which is not easily accessible by public transport.
During off-peak season, the postholder can adopt a hybrid working pattern.
Benefits Include
+ Personal and professional training, all equipment provided, 24hr Employee Assistance Programme advice line, up to 5% pension contribution, 28 days annual leave + bank holiday entitlement (pro rata), union recognition and staff representatives.
+ Woodcraft Folk staffing policies and procedures offer more generous than statutory minimums for many areas e.g. sickness, bereavement, compassionate and miscarriage leave.
As Our Centre Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include
+ Growing site activity: building and maintaining relationships with local schools, voluntary organisations and tourism bodies to attract visitors.
+ Collaborate with the Activity Co-ordinator to enhance educational programs and guest experiences.
+ Working with volunteers and the wider staff team to market and celebrate the impact of youth work activities on site.
+ Managing and developing the small staff and volunteer team.
+ Manage budgets effectively and contribute to business planning for site growth.
+ Manage risk assessments, maintenance records and safety inspections.
+ Oversee compliance with the Adventurous Activities Licensing Scheme and LOTC Quality Badge requirements.

+ Experience working with young people or youth organisations.
+ Experience in leading, managing and developing teams and individuals.
+ Safeguarding and child protection issues within a residential setting.
+ Health & safety, particularly safe working practices, outdoor education, facilities management, fire & water safety.
+ Experience in developing and implementing local operational plans.
+ Premises oversight and management.
+ Good interpersonal skills and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
+ Adaptable and flexible approach to work and working hours, meeting the needs of guests.
+ Working to agreed deadlines and budgets.
+ Delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
+ Instructing and supervising contractors.
+ Commitment to Woodcraft Folk values, aims and principles.
+ Open to team and collaborative ways of working.
+ Able to use your initiative to respond to issues on site and manage demands.
