Full Job Description

In this role, you will advance next-generation solutions for the building & infrastructure design, construction, and operations sectors' impact on embodied and operational energy & carbon, as well as water, health, and resilience. Leveraging your industry expertise, you will be accountable for identifying and prioritizing opportunities to advance sustainable design outcomes through technology developments. To influence and drive strategic development of our technology, you will play an active role in prioritizing and leading the incubation, development and productization of innovative sustainability solutions with partners and customers. This position will interface with and support teams across the company including product & development, strategy, research, and marketing teams to enable strategic integration of sustainability solutions as well as research initiatives to accelerate that work. Join Autodesk's Impact Team to support the development of Autodesk's Design & Make platform with novel sustainability technology for building and infrastructure industries. Help drive sustainability solutions to the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) industry's biggest environmental challenges. Responsibilities Develop, incubate and implement sustainable solutions in Autodesk's AECO offerings, informed by sustainability and product strategy:

  • Define, prioritize, lead, and develop proof of concept projects and prototypes in collaboration with Autodesk's technology teams, external partners, and customers
  • Bring industry expertise to inform research into current capabilities, metrics, and methods for achieving sustainable outcomes (e.g. mitigating embodied and operational carbon, designing resilient infrastructure, etc.)
  • Scope and define both existing and potential industry workflows to drive development of impactful sustainability solutions
  • Develop and implement programs to influence Autodesk technology to enable sustainability outcomes by AECO customers:
  • Manage programs and partnerships to support the creation and validation of the proof of concepts projects with customers to demonstrate market viability
  • Lead and coordinate user discovery and influence Research, Product, and XD teams, to integrate new technology or further the development of existing technology
  • Define, prioritize, lead, and develop proof of concept projects in collaboration with Autodesk's technology teams and customers
  • Synthesize insights from customer testing to drive further solution development and prioritization
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical knowledge to support enablement and go to market efforts

    Master's degree in a relevant field e.g. Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 5+ years professional experience in one or more AEC discipline(s), ideally with experience in the infrastructure industry including general civil engineering or transportation or construction
  • Skilled user of Autodesk BIM technology: AEC Collection, Forma, and/or Infraworks, Civil3D, Revit and familiarization with existing technology landscape
  • Maintains a technical mindset, with ability to quickly become comfortable with new technologies
  • Relevant expertise in sustainability: plan, design, build, and operate (e.g. high-performance buildings, smart & resilient cities, green construction and infrastructure)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to energy, water, materials, and resilience in the built environment
  • Strong collaborator with ability to influence others
  • Experience in research, trends and data analysis and presenting findings
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator and collaborator, with experience translating complex technical concepts for non-technical teams and audiences
  • Flexibility in meeting with people in different time zones
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with third-party AEC sustainability technology solutions
  • Experience performing and summarizing market research, customer interviews, and analyses of trends, foresight, and competition

    Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $89,500 and $154,330. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
