Salary: A percentage of the entry level salary of the chosen job you will be working towards, or the National Minimum Wage (according to age), whichever is greater

You will need to be motivated and passionate about early years, have some knowledge of child development and willing to work as part of a team.

The Castle Nurseries service consists of five nursery settings across the City of Newcastle.

We'll support you to learn new skills, and to thrive in your role, undertaking a Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship Qualification. The role is full time (37 hours per week) for a fixed term of 24 months. At Newcastle City Council our apprentices are paid a percentage of the salary for the role the apprentice is working towards. This is always at least National Minimum Wage and increases each year as you develop your knowledge and skills.

This apprenticeship role is working towards the role of Early Years Practitioner, which has a starting yearly salary for qualified staff of £24,404 for 37 hours full time.

In Y1 you will be paid up to 60% of the salary rate, or NMW, whichever is higher.
