Assistant Building Control Surveyor

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Assistant Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Standards team in Leeds. We operate a hybrid working model which to us means at least 3 days per week either in the Leeds office or out on site. What does the role involve? Managing a broad and interesting range of projects you will be a member of a highly motivated team and will support with :

• Undertaking plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
• Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports and witnessing tests (therefore a full, valid driving license is essential).
• Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.
• Being familiar with and using the management systems, including complying with the Quality Management system.
• Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme), Sweco UK&I have an internal resourcing team who are responsible for all recruiting activity. We have a Preferred Supplier List of trusted agencies who we work with on those hard to fill roles.
We have defined processes for recruitment applications and it is company policy not to accept speculative CVs. Any speculative CVs received into the business (whether to a manager or member of the resourcing team) will become the property of Sweco and the agency will not be eligible for an introductory fee. To be successful in this role you'll have a MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB qualification (or be working towards) and have experience in a similar role. You may have experience as a Graduate Building Control Surveyor and be looking for your next step. You'll also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and will be developing your skills in introducing new clients and expanding the workload.
