Full Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager to join our team. You will be Registered Manager for the service 4 bedded short stay respite service based on Millview. Responsibilities will include allocation of stays for individuals commissioned to access Millview along with ensuring that the rota matches the needs. You will have a allocated budget to work within. You will provide leadership and management for the staff team and working in partnership with other Assistant Team Managers to provide a rotational on call team for the service. The individuals supported at Millview are adults with complex needs and all have a learning disability diagnosis., Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify.

As the registered manager for Millview respite and short stay unit you will be predominantly based in the location and have the ability to build up relationships with all the guests. You should have the knowledge and qualifications to allow you to complete the Fit Person Interview with CQC. Ideally the skills you have should include basic Information Technology skills, good time management skills, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritise tasks and have a passion in providing opportunities to both staff and guests at Millview as well as the wider service. You will need to undertake assessments with proposed guests and be part of the team ensuring a smooth transition into the service.
Opportunities Together is an in house council service for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs aged 18 and over. We have a team of 11 Assistant Team Managers who will form your peer group with supervision and advice from one of the two team managers. We pride ourselves in the way the service evolves and are constantly looking for ways to improve and communicate with representatives from the individuals in the service. There is an exceptional training programme which is offered to all staff at all levels which includes service specific training and also the wider council training on offer. We have a good retention of staff throughout the service and this post has become available due the retirement of the previous postholder. This post includes some evening, bank holiday and weekend working with approximately 2 weekends off in 4.
