Full Job Description

The Associate Chief Nurse- Operations and Patient Experience will be an integral member of the Directorate management team leading the Directorate in the delivery of key performance targets and the clinical strategy. They will provide proactive senior nursing leadership and management with a mandate for improving patient experience and safety across all areas of the Directorate.

As an experienced senior nurse, the post holder will be expected to focus on providing an environment for all children, young people and their families that is clean and safe in line with the highest clinical care and infection control standards, ensuring children receive optimum care whilst being consistently treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

The post holder is responsible and accountable for the Directorate nursing/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) budget and the performance and delivery of safe high quality nursing services.

The post holder is accountable for delivery of the Trust's Nursing Strategy within their Directorate and as determined, undertake corporate leadership of defined aspects of the nursing agenda on behalf of the Chief Nurse. The role is also a senior leadership position in the organisation so the postholder will expected to lead on Trust-wide transformation projects and also represent the Trust at external meetings, As the Associate Chief Nurse - Operations and Patient Experience, you will lead the nursing team across the relevant areas within the Directorate You will provide professional and clinical nursing leadership, advice and development, and contribute to Trust-wide and national projects.

As part of the Management Team, the you will work collaboratively with the General Manager and Chief of Service to assure the Executive Team and Trust Board that robust systems of governance and performance management are in place to deliver high quality child and family centred care and services. You will also be part of a successful senior nursing team, supporting the delivery of excellent nursing care across the hospital.

You will have significant experience at a senior nursing level in a relevant children's in-patient environment. You must demonstrate strong leadership and excellent staff management skills in line with our Trust values. With excellent communication skills you will need to be able to establish your credibility at all levels and be able to quickly build relationships within your own team and the wider organisation.
